A Whole New World

At the Cigar Family Complex I experienced something that I never have before and I’m forever grateful for having had a chance to do so. The children I met, especially Jennifer, inspired me with their stories and numerous talents. Although they lacked in physical materials, they did not lack in eagerness or passion as I watched them perform and invite us into their “second home.” They welcomed us as family and told us that we always had a home. I felt so invited in a foreign country which is more than enough. I found inspiring stories even in poverty and amazing courage as the students and teachers vowed to help the kids succeed. I believe in being more than where you came from and these people exemplified just that.
