Today was officially our last day in the Dominican Republic. When I woke up this morning I knew that shoveling and man power is what was needed to accomplish the goals of the day. As we went to the homes to lay down concrete I began to truly know the “power of giving” and it is an unexplainable feeling. The only way I can describe it is to feel fulfilled and complete as a person. As the day went on a girl that I had met at the school earlier in the week came up to me and started talking with me. However what was so amazing about the experience was that she remembered my name! Just to know that I had so much of an impact on this one person, that she remembered my name, made me feel so special! But after the pictures, and the work was done, and it was time for us to go, I felt full. I felt full of love, full of happiness, and full of giving which truly gave me the feeling of fulfillment. Isn’t that what it’s all about? Yes, that is what it’s all about, and I can’t wait to further my experience with this foundation, and I will truly cherish this trip for the rest of my life.
